An Interactive Introduction to the Literacy Design Collaborative: A Resource for Common Core State Standards-Aligned Instruction
Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 7 p.m. – 8 p.m., ET

LDC
As implementation of the Common Core State Standards moves forward, the need for teacher-developed, high-quality CCSS-aligned resources continues to grow. Many educators have expressed a need for help in finding and effectively using quality instructional materials and supports. This webinar will introduce participants to the Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) and provide them with an opportunity to:

  • Learn about LDC and how it can serve as a resource to help design and implement CCSS-aligned instruction across content areas;
  • Review and discuss practical examples of LDC resources; and
  • Engage in breakout sessions facilitated by educators from different content areas to analyze lessons (LDC mini-tasks) and unit examples (LDC modules) for immediate use in the classroom. Participants will learn how to access instructional resources created and vetted by teachers from all over the country and how to use the online tool to begin to create and share their own great lessons and units.

After the breakouts, participants will reconvene to share thoughts on what they learned and how they envision using the resources.

Preregistration for this webinar is required. Register HERE.

Please visit the Literacy Design Collaborative website prior to the webinar. While there, sign up for a free LDC CoreTools account to see examples of lessons and units—or create your own!
