Engaging curriculum
Share My Lesson is a place where anyone who works with students—inside or outside of schools—can come together to share their very best resources. Developed by the AFT and TES Connect, this free platform gives access to high-quality resources and provides an online community where educators and parents can collaborate with, encourage and inspire each other.
The AFT seeks to promote educational excellence and equity for English language learners (ELLs)—students in preK-12 who are not yet proficient in reading, writing and communicating in the English language—to ensure they meet the same challenging standards required of all students.
The AFT advocates that states and districts ensure that all K-3 teachers have the knowledge, resources and supports they need to implement high-quality early reading instruction for their students.
The AFT believes that, if implemented carefully and with the needed supports and resources, the Common Core State Standards will help improve education for all students.
We must move away from “test-and-punish” systems to accountability systems that “support and improve.” Accountability should rest collectively both with individual educators and with administrators in the schools, districts and state agencies that recruit, hire, assign, support and evaluate them.
