Town Hall on Educator Pay

On Monday, Feb. 13th, AFT President Randi Weingarten joined Sen. Bernie Sanders, the new chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and others for a town hall on teacher pay at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. It was Senator Sanders first town hall since becoming committee chair, and it shows he understands the urgency of the teacher turnover and shortage crisis.

AFT members who were at the town hall gave their thoughts on teacher pay and the importance of the town hall.
