AFT Resolution
WOMEN'S MILITARY MEMORIAL
WHEREAS, there are well over 1 million women veterans of military service; and
WHEREAS, no recognition of their service to the nation now exists; and
WHEREAS, the AFT, at its July 1988 convention in San Francisco, unanimously endorsed a resolution supporting the Vietnam Women's Memorial:
RESOLVED, that the AFT, when appropriate, provide opportunities for WIMSA (Women in Military Service for America) volunteers to address members at organizational meetings to solicit support for this effort; and
RESOLVED, that the AFT and its state federations publicize this project.
