VIETNAM WOMEN'S MEMORIAL PROJECT

WHEREAS, over a quarter of a million women served our country in the armed forces during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, a group of these women is seeking approval for placement of a statue honoring female veterans at the site of the Vietnam War Memorial; and

WHEREAS, the executive council of the American Federation of Teachers has endorsed the Vietnam Women's Memorial Project, promoting placement of the statue at the Vietnam War Memorial:

RESOLVED, that the FNHP/AFT, when appropriate, provide opportunities for Vietnam Women's Memorial Project volunteers to address members at organizational meetings in order to solicit their support; and

RESOLVED, that the FNHP/AFT support all efforts to make the project a reality, including actively lobbying for legislation that would provide for placement of the statue at the site of the Vietnam War Memorial.
