AFT Resolution

UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION

WHEREAS, public classified employees of the state of Oregon have been adversely affected economically due to the lack of stable school financing; and

WHEREAS, this lack of stability has caused a reduction in the work year for many classified employees; and

WHEREAS, these employees and their families are economically impacted as a result of temporary unemployment:

RESOLVED, that AFT lobby Congress to change the law to allow public classified employees to collect unemployment benefits during recess periods.
