TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HISTORIC 1963 MARCH ON WASHINGTON

WHEREAS, August 27, 1983, will be the 2Oth anniversary of the historic March on Washington; and

WHEREAS, the unfilled legacy, "I Have a Dream," of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is still before us; and

WHEREAS, the call has been issued by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, Dr. Joseph Lowery, Murray Finley, the Honorable Walter Fauntroy, William Winpisinger and many other notables for a massive March on Washington, D.C., on August 27, 1983, and continued activities on August 28, 1983:

RESOLVED, that this 67th annual convention of the American Federation of Teachers endorses this event and urges all members to participate.
