AFT Resolution

SUPPORT FOR 'LABOR'S HERITAGE'

WHEREAS, the preservation and dissemination of information on labor's heritage is essential to the understanding of American democracy and society; and

WHEREAS, the George Meany Memorial Archives at the George Meany Center for Labor Studies now publishes Labor's Heritage, a beautifully illustrated, scholarly based quarterly for the general reader, complete with teacher's guide:

RESOLVED, that the AFT encourage teachers and their schools to subscribe to and utilize this long-needed tool to enrich their curricula; and

RESOLVED, that AFT members and their locals and state federations take advantage of Labor's Heritage's Adopt-a-Library program to present special low-cost gift subscriptions to their school and public community libraries.
