SPECIAL REVIEW OF NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HYGIENE
WHEREAS, the New York State Public Employees Federation represents 17,000 professional workers with the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene has sought to encroach upon the professional responsibilities and ethics of these members by introducing legislation which removes certain specific responsibilities from the service of the professional workers and by demanding excessive case loads which render the professional unable to provide quality service:
RESOLVED, that AFT supports a special review by the Department of Health and Human Services of the New York State Department of Mental Hygiene's continual erosion of quality care to the client. (Executive Council)
