AFT Resolution

SECRET FILES

WHEREAS, some schools and colleges maintain secret or confidential files of educational employees; and

WHEREAS, the existence of such files allows and indeed encourages abuses that can affect the employment security of both probationary and educational employees; and

WHEREAS, such files are offensive to the sentiments of the nation as expressed by the Buckley amendment:

RESOLVED, that AFT sponsor legislation which abolishes all secret files used in personnel action.
