REFUGEES

WHEREAS, there are thousands of Vietnamese and Cambodian refugees fleeing from totalitarian regimes; and

WHEREAS, these refugees, often in boats, are not accepted by any country and are left to die on the seas; and

WHEREAS, the United States has had a policy of limiting the acceptance of such refugees:

RESOLVED, that we urge the United States government to liberalize its policy of accepting refugees from Vietnam and Cambodia, and further, that it use its influence to pressure other countries to accept increased numbers of these refugees.
