AFT Resolution
RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF SUBSTITUTES
WHEREAS, substitute teaching requires the ability to adapt to various schools, students and curricula; and
WHEREAS, the notification of assignment frequently occurs on very short notice; and
WHEREAS, the contributions of substitute teachers sometimes appear inconspicuous or are often overlooked in the daily school routine; and
WHEREAS, instruction would be catastrophically impacted were there not any substitute teachers:
RESOLVED, that the AFT recognizes, the invaluable contribution of these teachers to the education of the children and the youth of the United States. (Executive Council)
