AFT Resolution

QUALITY EDUCATIONAL TV PROGRAMMING

WHEREAS, television is a primary means of communication in our society; and

WHEREAS, some television programs are based on the same ideas that we as teachers are striving to communicate in our classrooms; and

WHEREAS, such programs can be very educational to the viewing audience; and

WHEREAS, teachers have an ever-present need to build strong ties with the community, be it at a local, state or national level; and

WHEREAS, those ties can be strengthened through the positive use of the television media:

RESOLVED, that the AFT endorses a program recommendation policy to convey our support of quality educational programming. (Executive Council)
