OPERATION PUSH

WHEREAS, numerous labor and community organizations including Operation PUSH supported the Chicago Teachers Union in its recent strike; and

WHEREAS, the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Operation PUSH have demonstrated their willingness to work with the teachers' trade union movement; and

WHEREAS, the union and communities should be allies:

RESOLVED, that the AFT, where it sees fit, actively supports the activities of Operation PUSH and encourage its members to support Operation PUSH; and

RESOLVED, that this be communicated to the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Operation PUSH.
