AFT Resolution
INCREASED FEDERAL AID
WHEREAS, federal laws, federal regulations and federal court orders have resulted in the need for increased local spending for education; and
WHEREAS, these mandates have impacted on local programs causing them to be curtailed or eliminated; and
WHEREAS, these mandates are eliminating local control of school budgets:
RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers seek federal legislation for 1OO percent federal funding for all such mandates that are a result of federal laws, federal regulations, and federal court orders that create an increase in spending for local communities and that this money be paid directly to the school fund.(1980)
