AFT Resolution
IMPROVEMENT OF SOCIAL SECURITY
WHEREAS, benefits available to recipients of the Social Security Systems are less than adequate to support the minimum standard of living to which American citizens are entitled:
RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers continues to work for legislation needed to improve the Social Security system; and
RESOLVED, that our officers and members constantly work for legislation to improve the Social Security system plus a 50 percent increase in benefits.
