AFT Resolution

ESTABLISHMENT OF AFT CONVENTION ACTIVITIES FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYEES

WHEREAS, the American Federation of Teachers has a significant portion of its members who are not teachers, and/or health care professionals; and

WHEREAS, committees at AFT conventions are designed primarily to address resolutions concerning teachers and health care professionals, and work­shops at the AFT conventions are only specifically for these members:

RESOLVED, that the AFT executive council establishes a Public Employees Convention Committee at all AFT conventions for groups of members who are neither teachers nor health care professionals; and

RESOLVED, that workshops be held for each of these groups of members at each convention in order that they may address specific issues that concern them.
