AFT Resolution

EARLY IDENTIFICATION IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

WHEREAS, the early years of a child's education can frame the success or failure of his entire school career; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to deal with deficiencies that may later mar academic and social progress:

RESOLVED, that the AFT encourage locals to bargain for programs that call for early identification of children with learning problems and appropriate remedial programs to deal with these problems.
