DEFEND SCHOOL INTEGRATION PROGRAMS

 

WHEREAS, recent court decisions upholding school integration programs in Berkeley and Los Angeles strengthen the fight against resegregation in California and nationally; and
WHEREAS, right-wing, resegregationalist legal groups and politicians have declared that they will mount further challenges to these and other integration plans:
RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers support the recent legal victories upholding Berkeley Unified Schools integration plan and Los Angeles Unified Schools magnet school integration plan and commit ourselves to oppose any future challenges to these victories by anti-integration forces.
