AFT Resolution

CENTRAL LABOR COUNCILS

WHEREAS, the labor movement has a continuing need for education because of the complexities of our society; and

WHEREAS, the members of the AFT are equipped to train workers for leadership in their unions and the community:

RESOLVED, that AFT Local 189 calls upon the AFT to encourage the affiliated local unions to take an active part in the affairs of the city central bodies; and

RESOLVED, that the AFT locals encourage the formation of active education committees in state and local central bodies and that AFT members volunteer their services.
