BIRTH CONTROL, ABORTION AND VENEREAL DISEASE INFORMATION
WHEREAS, young men and women attending high school have requested adequate sex education, including birth control and abortion referral information; and
WHEREAS, the need for family living and sex education is generally recognized throughout the nation; and
WHEREAS, the problem of pregnancy and venereal disease is reaching alarming proportions among school age children; and
WHEREAS, little information or counseling is available to these children; and
WHEREAS, many school districts exclude pregnant girls from school and totally ignore the problem of venereal disease:
RESOLVED, that we support the establishment of programs whereby staff and student personnel be specially designated to work with guidance counselors to transmit recognized abortion, birth control and venereal disease prevention information to the student population of our secondary schools.
