ANTI-UNION MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT FIRMS
WHEREAS, it is the public policy of the United States to encourage the peaceful settlement of disputes by granting workers the right to organize for collective bargaining; and
WHEREAS, management consultant firms specializing in anti-union campaigns have proliferated and through their unconscionable role thwart the rights of employees to organize; and
WHEREAS, the financing of such management consultant by health care employers not only hinders the public policy but drains thousands of dollars from patient care; and
WHEREAS, these consultants create a high stress environment, disrupting the work environment, patient care and health care delivery:
RESOLVED, that FNHP/AFT continue to oppose use of management consultants during employee organizing campaigns as contrary to established public policy; and
RESOLVED, that FNHP/AFT cooperate with other unions, federal agencies, and other interested groups in efforts to bring to public attention the exploitation of employee rights, the wasted health dollars and this attack on the union representation process. (Executive Council)
