AID TO STUDENTS IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS

WHEREAS, one of the objects of the American Federation of Teachers is "To promote the welfare of the childhood of the nation by providing progressively better educational opportunity of all;" and

WHEREAS, the American Federation of Teachers is engaged in fostering the professional advancement of teachers in the non-public schools of the nation:

RESOLVED, that the AFT, its state and local affiliates support legislation which establishes standards for the qualifications of teachers in non-governmentally operated schools.
