AFT Resolution

AID FOR HANDICAPPED STUDENTS

WHEREAS, Title Vll of the Higher Education Act authorized $100 million in federal funding for construction projects; and

WHEREAS, this money is to be used to provide access for handicapped students to buildings, classrooms and other college facilities; to conform to governmental requirements for safety and health; and to make campus facilities more energy efficient:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers calls upon Congress to immediately appropriate monies to implement Title Vll of the Higher Education Act.
