AFT Resolution

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION STATE PLAN COMMITTEES

WHEREAS, the Vocational Act of 1963 as completely revised by the Education Amendments of 1976 (PL 94-482) is to be amended in 1981; and

WHEREAS, Section 104.162 appoints the State Plan Committee which now consists of representation from ten state agencies; and

WHEREAS, the law does not provide for representation from other groups:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers recommends the committee be expanded to include representatives who are both active classroom teachers and members of teachers' bargaining organizations, so that instructors hereafter constitute a majority of that committee. (Executive Council)
