AFT Resolution

NATIONAL PARAPROFESSIONALS AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL

WHEREAS, paraprofessionals and other school support personnel have demonstrated they are very important members of the classroom team; and

WHEREAS, paraprofessionals and other school support personnel play a vital role in the education of all students and are an essential ingredient in the link between the school and the community; and

WHEREAS, it has been proven that students have made educational achievements in those classrooms where a paraprofessional or supportive personnel is present:

RESOLVED, that the AFT seeks ways in which to implement the concept of a National Paraprofessional, Supportive Personnel Recognition Day.
