AFT Resolution
SUPPORT COLLECTIVE BARGAINING IN HIGHER EDUCATION
WHEREAS, the Yeshiva decision of the Supreme Court of the United States abridged the right of faculty to organize into a labor union; and
WHEREAS, the NLRB has this year (1987) used this to decertify the faculty union at Fairleigh Dickinson University; and
WHEREAS, the House of Representatives is now considering a bill (H.R. 1865) that would guarantee the right of faculty to engage in collective bargaining:
RESOLVED, that AFT support H.R. 1865.
