AFT Resolution

EXPANSION OF EDUCATIONAL ISSUES DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the programs offered through the Educational Issues Department, such as ER&D, contribute greatly to the achievement of AFT goals for education reform endorsed by the convention, and also to the growth of the union; and

WHEREAS, PSRPs are a growing force in the union and will need professional issues support; and

WHEREAS, the department's programs serve many AFT locals across the nation and are in increasing demand:

RESOLVED, that the convention recommend to the Executive Council that the AFT expand its Educational Issues Department so that it can render assistance to a greater degree.
