AFT Resolution

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA

 WHEREAS, the United States economy depends on a competent and educated work force in order to progress; and

WHEREAS, a high school diploma is the hallmark of persistence and achievement in academic and related studies and symbolizes the attainment of education and competency:

RESOLVED, that the AFT urge AFL-CIO affiliated unions to negotiate into future contracts, wherever appropriate, a wage step or differential that specifically recognizes and rewards a worker's attainment of a high school diploma.
