DISARMAMENT, THE U.S. ARMS CONTROL AND DISARMAMENT AGENCY

WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has created the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency; and

WHEREAS, this agency has been of tremendous value in providing scientific information and facts for arms negotiations in the Geneva disarmament talks, and

WHEREAS, the Agency has initiated research into the causes of group conflict, methods of detecting violations of test ban agreements and other related matters of great national concern; and

WHEREAS, the Agency can be of inestimable value to teachers in furnishing research findings and other resources:

RESOLVED, that we re-affirm our support for the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, and urge that its modest budget and staff be substantially increased so that it can carry forward its critical work more speedily and effectively.
