AFT Resolution

REAPPORTIONMENT

WHEREAS, the Supreme Court of the United States has decided that the method of apportionment of seats in the Legislatures of some of our states has been unconstitutional; and

WHEREAS, such inequitable apportionment in the Legislatures of the same states has been detrimental to the interests of large groups of citizens within their borders:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers in convention assembled declare its continued opposition to any attempted circumvention of the 1964 decision of the Supreme Court of the United States on reapportionment.
