AFT Resolution

TEACHER TRANSFER

WHEREAS, fair employment practices are now required in many states and cities of the United States in public and private employment; and

WHEREAS, equal educational opportunity is desirable for all the children of this country:

RESOLVED, that all locals of the American Federation of Teachers be urged to make nondiscriminatory hiring, placing, transferring and promotion of teachers a subject for negotiations in any collective bargaining contract or other general negotiation or presentation vis-a-vis their local school boards and school administrators.
