AFT Resolution

TEACHERS' FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION

WHEREAS, the teacher's relationship to his students is not limited to the classroom; and

WHEREAS, the teacher's commitment to the education and welfare of the child may often involve teacher par­ticipation in student and/or community organizations in defense of their interests or views:

RESOLVED, that the AFT go on record as supporting the right of any teacher to assist in such student or community organization without hindrance or prejudice.
