AFT Resolution
CAPITAL PUNISHMENT
WHEREAS, the long experience of many states of the United States, and of many other nations, which have abolished capital punishment shows there is no correlation between capital punishment and the incidence of crime; and
WHEREAS, the fallibility of lawyers, jurors, witnesses, and judges has resulted and may result in irrevocable tragedy and injustice where the penalty of death is applied:
RESOLVED, that this convention advocate the abolition of capital punishment.
