UNION LABEL
WHEREAS, the economy of the nation depends on the number of people working and the amount of goods manufactured and sold; and
WHEREAS, the economy is improved when workers are fully employed and earnings are at a high standard; and
WHEREAS, the union label provides the purchaser with knowledge concerning the standards of labor that prevail in the making of the product; and
WHEREAS, the union label is a practical, effective, and efficient tool for organizing the unorganized:
RESOLVED, that this Convention recommend to the AFL-CIO that it prepare an informative general message to all young workers on the importance of the organized labor movement to them and appealing for their active support; and
RESOLVED, that all affiliates of the AFL-CIO be urged to obtain and distribute such a message in their communities.
