WORK EXPERIENCE CREDIT

WHEREAS, there are almost as many different methods of granting credit to teachers for prior experience as there are school systems; and

WHEREAS, often teachers do not receive full credit for prior experience when they change positions, particularly when they move to a different state; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative to a teacher's professional position to be compensated for all of his accumulated experience:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers urge its affiliates to work to obtain agreements which will give teachers full credit for their teaching experience.
