IMPROVEMENT OF AFT COMMUNICATION & RECRUITING AMONG COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY FACULTIES WITH A NEWSPAPER

IMPROVEMENT OF AFT COMMUNICATION & RECRUITING AMONG COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY FACULTIES WITH A NEWSPAPER & A MEMBERS HANDBOOK

WHEREAS, professors are being threatened more and more in their freedom and security, and will in the foreseeable future need stronger representation by the AFT; and

WHEREAS, AFT competes in the colleges and universities with organizations which have elaborate publications; and

WHEREAS, AFT has no national publication directed solely at college and university faculties; and

RESOLVED, that the national AFT office will:

  • Issue a monthly four-page newspaper-format publication aimed at college and university faculties;
  • Compile, issue and revise every two years an AFT college and university MEMBERS HANDBOOK consisting of, but not limited to, the AFT Constitution, principal official AFT policies as passed by the National Convention affecting college and university faculties, a history of the AFT, facts about membership and locals, and names and addresses of college and university locals.
