AFT Resolution

FINANCING OF HIGHER EDUCATION

WHEREAS, there is a trend to place higher education low on the list of national priorities; and

WHEREAS, there is a grave financial crisis which is threatening the vitality of higher education:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers commit itself to the attainment of resources through progressive taxation adequate for the funding of programs of higher education by seeking increased government appropriations and full executive expenditure of available funds.
