AFT Resolution

TEACHER RATINGS

WHEREAS, any scaled rating of teachers nurtures the exercise of political pressure, and creates disharmony among the members of a school's staff; and

WHEREAS, every school system should have a contractual procedure which guarantees due process for all teachers:

RESOLVED, that locals, through the collective bargaining process eliminate where they exist, the scaled ratings of teachers; and

RESOLVED, that the AFT and its locals work through collective bargaining process and legislative action to establish strong due process procedures for all teachers.
