AFT Resolution

SCHOOL FINANCE

WHEREAS, local school districts throughout the nation are starving financially; and

WHEREAS, unequal educational opportunity is built into present methods of financing schools:

RESOLVED, that AFT works without respite toward national legislation to provide general education aid to the state systems according to need; and

RESOLVED, that AFT encourages its state and local affiliates to press for the kind of reorganized state tax structure which would triple the present state support levels for their school systems.
