TEAMSTER RAIDS

WHEREAS, the Taylor Federation of Teachers has represented teachers in new negotiations for the past twenty-five years and has been the sole bargaining agent for the past ten years; and

WHEREAS, the Taylor Federation of Teachers has been challenged by the Teamsters for bargaining rights; and

WHEREAS, the challenge to the TFT is the avowed harbinger of future raids in federation locals by Teamsters:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO, support the Taylor Federation of Teachers, Local 1085, with every available resource to ensure the defeat of the interceding Teamsters and to ensure all teachers that educators' negotiations will be handled by the people who know teacher negotiations best, representatives of the American Federation of Teachers.
