AFT Resolution
SOCIAL SECURITY TWO-YEAR STUDY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the American Federation of Teachers has already supported the resolution which opposes mandatory inclusion of public employees into social security; and
WHEREAS, the current social security laws provide for a two-year study of problems and solutions to the proper funding of the social security system; and
WHEREAS, the results of this study may become law within the next few years following submission of its report to Congress:
RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers shall enlist the aid and support of the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations to insure that the study committee report does not include the mandatory inclusion of public employees into the Social Security system.
