AFT Resolution

SPECIAL EDUCATION

WHEREAS, our most important natural resource is our children; and

WHEREAS, the responsibility of our various levels of government is to provide a proper education for all school-age children; and

WHEREAS, the President and the national legislature have cut the appropriations necessary to implement programs for special education:

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers reaffirm its commitment to seek the necessary legislation and funds to provide the best education possible for our children; and

RESOLVED, that the American Federation of Teachers, through its national office and its various locals, make every effort to educate the legislators as to the proper priorities that educators demand.
