AFT Resolution

TEACHERS OF THE ARTS

WHEREAS, programs of teaching of the arts serve as an integral avenue of experience in the total program of education; and

WHEREAS, these programs are threatened or are vanishing from the schools in many districts due to alleged budget constraints:

 

RESOLVED, that the AFT in convention assembled adopt a policy of full support for educational programs in the arts; and

RESOLVED, that the AFT affirm the need for the employment of certified teachers in the arts in every school.
