AFT Resolution

MANDATORY KINDERGARTEN FOR KINDERGARTEN-ELIGIBLE CHILDREN

WHEREAS, kindergarten is now optional in many states, and both academic studies and teacher experience show that good early childhood education sets the groundwork for later success in school and life:

 

RESOLVED, that the AFT support mandatory full-day kindergarten and encourage state legislatures across the nation to make full-day kindergarten mandatory in all public schools.
