AFT Resolution

CURRICULUM REFORM

Whereas, the AFT stands at the forefront of curriculum reform and educational innovation; and

Whereas, the AFT recognizes the value and strength of our cultural diversity:

Resolved, that the AFT urge state and local school boards to adopt relevant and updated curriculum materials that include and accurately reflect the political, economic, cultural and scientific contributions of African-Americans and other ethnic minorities in the U.S.; and

Resolved, that the AFT provide research and information to aid the adoption of this curriculum standard and develop a model for the training of educators in the use of this curriculum.
