AFT Resolution
DEFENSE OF THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Federal Trade Commission serves the interests of the overwhelming majority of the people as consumers by requiring accurate labeling of products and itemization of bills, and forbidding production of dangerous products for interstate commerce; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Trade Commission has been under heavy attack from legislators of the far right who seek its total destruction:
RESOLVED, that the AFT call upon all AFT affiliates to support the FTC and urge locals and state federations to communicate with their respective members of Congress to that effect. (Executive Council)
