The issues

On Education:
Supports turning federal education dollars into vouchers that can be used to fund private schools. Favors eliminating the U.S. Department of Education.

On Colleges and Universities:
Voted to cut Pell Grants, which help low-income students attend college.

On Health Insurance:
Opposed the Affordable Care Act, and has sponsored legislation to repeal and defund the ACA.

On Jobs and the Economy:
Opposes attempts to raise the minimum wage. Opposed extending unemployment benefits. Supports legislation that would cut funding for critical programs, including education, healthcare, state and local infrastructure, Social Security and Medicare. On Retirement Security:
Supports raising the retirement age for Social Security, reducing the growth rate of Social Security benefits and privatizing Social Security.

On Human Rights:
Opposes the Obama administration’s executive order protecting undocumented children (DACA and DAPA). Introduced legislation to defund the DACA programs.
