Healthcare: To reduce errors, more hospitals are using checklists to ensure proper protocols are followed. If your facility uses checklists, has patient care improved? If not, how do you think checklists would improve care in your facility?

It seems to me that there are so many check lists, they have lost their effectiveness. On more then one occasion, the list is filled out either before the procedure or after it is completed and isn't related to the event at all. If the nurse had less multi-tasking and less distractions in the environment, the nurse would be more likely to catch potential errors. Soon there will be checklist for checklists!
