General: What does Paul Ryan on the Republican ticket mean for your family, your job and your community?

I hope that Paul Ryan on the ticket means that we will get a president who works much much harder to get the federal defecit under control. I hope that Paul Ryan on the ticket will encourage more people to vote out Obamah because his methods of management have not been succesful. I hope Paul Ryan on the ticket means that my family will have more opportunities to advance their careers that they have worked so hard for. I hope that my community will be able to reduce the number of underemployeed and needy. I hope that we will stem the additude that the government should take care of all of our financial problems.

Paul Ryan further defines and clarifies the Republican ticket. He's shown us his limited perception of the issues that daily affect our working families, and his simplistic ideas to remove supports for hard-working people while the economy is still recovering. He seems to believe middle-class Americans have no dignity or pride in their work if they unite voices to assure fair and safe conditions. He shows disregard for the spirit of working together to build communities. It means that when my students learn creative, acknowledging, collaboration skills, they will be labeled as lazy, irresponsible, non-individuals. That's pretty demoralizing.

I am hoping that the Romney/Ryan ticket can finally get this nation on the right track of fiscal responsibility. We are standing at the edge of a fiscal cliff and we have only one chance to keep from falling off the edge. Countless nations in history have fallen off this cliff because they were led by monarchs and dictators who cared for little other than their own pleasures and power. Thank God that we live in a nation where we can elect leaders who will make these difficult but necessary choices. I only pray that Americans will stand up as previous generations have done and make the right decision. The Romney/Ryan ticket will do the job.

The Romney/Ryan ticket, to me, means fiscal responsibility -finally, at the national level! Their plan for Medicare and Social Security is a sensible approach to the problems we face in those programs. Making people accountable is a good thing in my opinion.

While RACING TO THE TOP, I have seen teachers placed in an evaluation system that Medical professionals would fail. I cannot support another 4 long years with Mr Obama and Arnie Duncan. When was the last time you saw a Vice President (especially the current one) really effect change in government. Don't be afraid of the unknown,BE AFRAID of the known.

I was listening to Obama campaign say that Romney/Ryan will raise my taxes $2000. Obama/Patrick have raised my health care costs by about $3000 by taking our negotiating rights away, not to mention our new evaluation system and national core standards . All a complete waste of time, just a repackage of what we already do, on our own time. Obama has been no friend to teachers.

Paul Ryan on the Republican ticket increases the probability that Romney will win the election and OBAMA WILL BE OUT. Hooray! For the first time in my life (and possibly the last) I will vote Republican for good of my family & the USA. Obama has been the most destructive president that I can remember. He is a gifted salesman, and too many gullible voters are eager to buy his snake oil. It is true that he has inherited a mess, but he has made it much messier, while always pretending to have done the opposite. He lies, blames others for his incompetence, and is running the dirtiest, most unethical campaign immaginable. Vote Romney -- Ryan

I am looking forward to elected officials who know how to balance budgets and stand up for all americans without dividing them. Romney is a successfull businessman and knows how the process of obtaining licenses, insurance costs for employees, and spending only what comes in. Also partnered with a man who can speak from his heart, not a teleprompter, has a degree and proven record of economic successes and knows how to budget with priorities = not by special interests. Yes, I am ready for a different hope & change than our current situation.

Those of us who are close to retiring are scared witless about the whole Romney/Ryan agenda. We've lost so much power as well as rights we've fought long and hard for all during our careers. Teaching is a tough job that the Republicans find necessary to malign. WORK WITH US --NOT AGAINST US!!

A change of hope. The Obama ticket has increased gas prices, budget cuts in education, and the deficit is alarming to all Americans. I have applied for hundreds of jobs to no avail. It has been the most difficult three years of my family life. I thought by going to college and getting a degree that would enhance my family life. We need a change that will restore the American Dream for all people in America. We hope your ticket will lead us all on a better path.

Having Paul Ryan run for Vice President along with Mitt Romney, is scary. They both want to shut down unions, lower everyone's wages and diminish the middle-class.....as they keep their low income taxes allowing the rich to get even richer! Since my husband works for the UAW, we are BOTH in fear of our unions becoming weaker, as well as our job positions all but non-existent at any given moment.

Paul Ryan on the ticket is good news!! At last, people will be able to see more clearly that this agenda is really going to favor the "one percent" and not the rest of us! And that "one percent" is NOT the same one percent of twenty years ago! This is a whole new, much more wealthy, class than we have ever seen. It will give us an opportunity to emphasize the real schism that has grown between that new "one percent" and the rest of us!! Paul Ryan is just as amiable as can be, but remember he gives copies of Ayn Rand to all his staff members!

The end Medicare is crucial for my parents and myself as we all depend upon the existence of Medicare as our only source for health insurance. The cut of 11 million dollars from the budget for US veterans care and benefits (my father is a veteran). Most Importantly, his budget will gut priorities for access to Pell grants for nearly 10 million students and he plans to double student loan interest rates. My sister has 3 children who depend upon the existence of this funding to continue their college studies. If the GOP wins - the USA is heading for a disaster and I already worry about access for her children for their college studies.

To me, the Romney-Ryan ticket means less money for education and social services; it's a slap in the face at poor and middle-class people in this country who are working hard or trying to find a job. It also means we're looking at 4 years of the rich getting richer through less or the same unequal tax burden and looking down at the rest of us.

A Romney/Ryan Administration would have a detrimental impact on ALL people making less than $250000/yr, jobs, communities, states, & America: People will find their local, state, & federal taxes (including "fees" they don't consider "taxes") will increase dramatically. Result: Less spending for anything but necessities; Due to less disposable income, fewer jobs! Those w/b exported, so Big Corps/Wealthy few can make ever greater profits; Education "vouchers" for private schools (w/a few token "needy"), to the detriment of Public Education. Result: Many children "Left Behind" w/little chance of further education/growth; Finally, no retirement

Ryan's policies will devastate safety net for seniors, the poor and middle class Americans. The 1% will continue to prosper under a Romney/Ryan admin. Ryan is biggest "do nothing" GOP in house and has hindered job creation at the expense of the American people and for his political gain.

Paul Ryan and his budget, whether he gets to be VP or not, represent the end of the New Deal and the Great Society. I know there are a few rich folk who like that, but the rest of us don't. We don't want to go back in time to 1930.

I am newly retired and I feel that this ticket is the worst ticket for our country. They seem to believe that the wealthy will share their wealth with the rest of the nation and that will stabilize the country. That's what's wrong now. They want to eliminate medicare and healthcare for those that are less fortunate. This is not right. Most of us have worked and put money into Social Security and Medicare all our lives and we deserve to get something back. We do not have the kinds of medical coverage that the members of Congress have and we don't get the type of pensions that they receive for life.

I've heard a lot of talk regarding Social Security and Medicare and its effect on seniors should there be cuts. No one, however, appears to be talking about people like me, who cannot work due to a medical condition and whose only income is Social Security Disability and who also rely on Medicare and Medicaid for our medical care. I have AIDS. I also suffer from Bipolar Disorder. These two conditions require medications that are extremely costly. Losing my coverage for these meds could leave me in a mental hospital or dead. Apparently neither Romney nor Ryan give a damn about people like me.

Romney and Ryan define success in terms of dollars and cents. That is generally what the GOP is about- money. Romney's Bain Capital certainly is an example of this- profit is more important than people. Ryan's budget plan is also an outrageous example of a policy that would devastate an already struggling working/middle class and those in the most need. But Romney and Ryan, the good Christians they are, don't care about things like the tribulations of the working poor, children without health insurance, services to seniors...They care about the bottom line, dollars and cents...Every man for himself...Yeah, that's Christian!

Vote

SALVATORE RIGGIO

Romney agrees with the Ryan mastermind behind the exreme GOP budget plan and says it would be "marvelous" if the Ryan budget would be adopted. The Medicae system would be the end of the present system and seniors would be responsib le for thousands of dollars in health care, plus the wealthy would benefit and greater burdens would be placed on the middle class. If people would just think and know what would be in store if the Romney/Ryan ticket wins.

We all agree that our current system of entitlements needs to be reformed. However, we need to do so responsibly. We can't radically change policies that will destroy the fabric of our Democracy. We can't afford to reduce educational needs, Social Security, and public services in order to maintain the lifestyles of the rich and influencial. Congress must restore confidence in the American Dream. We need to set priorities on what's important. Jobs, education, and technology or government subsidies for the "oil-rich and infamous."
